The historic area of Nillumbik is 30 kilometres northeast of Melbourne, Australia.
It includes the communities of Eltham, Diamond Creek, St. Andrews, North Warrandyte, Kangaroo Ground / Bend of Islands, Panton Hill and Cottles Bridge. There is a long tradition of artists living and working in these areas.
Experience the creativity of Nillumbik as artists open their doors to you. You can talk with, meet and see artists at work.
The foothills to Melbourne’s north-east were named Nillumbik by the first inhabitants, the Wurundjeri willam. When white settlement reached the area, the name was taken up by the newcomers.
The natural beauty of the area has attracted and nurtured a vibrant community of creative people. Within Victoria, Nillumbik is undoubtedly a special place with a special quality of life.
29 artists in 23 studios cover many disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles and photography. Most of the work on display is for sale or you may wish to commission a special work. Bookings are also available for workshops at many studios.
There are galleries of all artists' work on this site. Check their main pages for contact details. Click on the 'Artists' heading or click here.
